History

67.C2.-HISTORIE67.D.-HISTORIE67.E1.-HISTORIE67.F.-HISTORIE67.B1.-HISTORIEIt was fascination with the Venetian blind and it’s ability to screen, manage, adjust and cultivate light, that inspired Jørn Krab to establish Art Andersen in 1988.

With the dream of making the world’s best, most beautiful and precious wooden blind, Jørn Krab initiated collaboration with leading designers – and introduced, during the 1990s, a number of new types of Venetian blinds and light, mobile room-dividers which became highly successful and were rewarded with numerous prestigious international design awards.

In 1998 Jørn Krab’s enthusiasm, inventiveness and enthusiasm for the new, led to the development of Art Andersen’s first dynamic solar shading system for large glass facades – on the House of Architects in Copenhagen.

Ever since – the close and fruitful cooperation with leading Danish and international architects has been the key to Art Andersen’s success – and to the development of a long line of innovative concepts and products in dynamic screening of buildings and spaces.

Quite recent examples of this is the industrially produced, energy-saving window screening system, Energy Frames – and the brand new Copenhagen Blinds, electric aluminium blinds with state-of-the-art control electronics – in a clean and refined design.

Art Andersen collaborated with Europe’s largest window manufacturing group, Inwido, on the development and market maturation of Energy Frames and Copenhagen Blinds.

And Inwido has established a new company – phone +45 25 56 41 00 or +45 20 70 52 79 – for the production, marketing and sales of Energy Frames and Copenhagen Blinds.
