Energy Frames meet this demand.
Energy Frames is an award-winning system of dynamic shutter frames with energy-saving and indoor climate improving qualities: Daylight control, solar shading, visual shading, (night)insulation, natural ventilation and noise reduction.
You can design Energy Frames to fit the architectural expression of an individual building as it comes with the choice of many different surfaces, colors and materials. Consequently, Energy Frames can be used on both new and existing buildings of any program, from office to residential.
We developed Energy Frames in collaboration with Rambøll, SBI and Inwido with support from EUDP, ELFORSK PSO and the Danish Market Development Fund.
As part of the development process, Copenhagen University Hospital installed 128 Energy Frames on a pavilion. The rooms range from wards to offices to waiting rooms, meeting rooms. The solution for Copenhagen University Hospital is controlled locally and can provide shade from the sun to the that users that need it.
In 2014 the leading specialist journal for engineers in Denmark, Ingeniøren, awarded Energy Frames its sustainability award.
